Crime in Vassall

Lambeth Labour put tackling crime top of the agenda in their first budget. Local police teams were boosted with an extra 29 police community support officers with the number of police on Lambeth’s streets hitting an all-time high. A new Anti-Social Behaviour Team has issued record numbers of ASBOs against persistent offenders.

Lambeth Labour recently introduced the toughest measures against drug dealers in the country — opposed by the Liberals! During four years of Liberal Democrat rule Lambeth went soft on crime, but the Council changed gear in 2006 with Labour promising a tough new approach.
